BE NOTICED, NOT KNOWN, WITH

Breast Augmentation Surgery Sydney Services, by Dr. Niro S.

Breast augmentation aims to increase your breast size. This procedure is also referred to as augmentation mammoplasty and often uses breast implants. There are many reasons why you may desire breast augmentation surgery. For lots of people, they lack confidence in their breasts and would like to enhance their size and appearance. Alternatively, in reconstructive plastic surgery, breast implants can be used to restore a natural-looking breast after a mastectomy or to correct deformities of the chest wall.

With years of experience, Dr Niro understands that your needs are always priority number one. Therefore, we work with you to achieve the outcome of your dreams but also help you understand your procedure.

What is Breast Augmentation Surgery?

Breast augmentation enlarges breast by inserting implants beneath them. To determine the type and size of the implant, you must decide how much larger you would like your breasts to be. Additionally, factors such as your body type, skin thickness and elasticity, plus, your breast anatomy all come into play when deciding on the beast type of breast implants for you.

There is no such thing as a ‘standard’ recommendation for breast implants as there isn’t a one size fits all option. Your consultation will determine which type of implants may be best to achieve your desired outcome. The vast majority of the time, Dr Niro opts for round implants as opposed to “teardrop” implants. Published literature and consensus amongst surgeons leans towards round implants as a preference.

Breast augmentation usually takes around 2 hours to conduct and has a recovery period of around 6 weeks. You may experience your full results after roughly 3 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Breast Augmentation painful?
When considering breast augmentation, considerations around pain are understandable. Some things to consider include:
  • All surgery has some form of recovery period afterwards.
  • Pain is subjective and people define pain differently.
  • The patients psychological state may make a significant difference in pain tolerance.
  • Drugs may be offered to help and ease pain.
What is important to consider about before Breast Augmentation?
When conducting breast augmentation surgery, it is vital that certain elements are considered. Some of these consist of:
  • Breast volume
  • Skin elasticity
  • Torso appearance
  • Lifestyle factors
  • Position and shape relative to the body
  • Your recovery time allowance
Do implants have to be changed every few years?
No. Breast implants tend to have a long lifespan of around 10-15 years; some can even last to 20. As long as there is no medical reason for the removal of your implants, you should be able to keep them for a long time. Regardless, implants are man-made devices and could rupture or fail. As much as implants will not last a lifetime, they shouldn’t need to be changed in a few years.
